Before the Remodel

The original kitchen was showing its age. Worn cabinetry, outdated countertops, and a mismatched backsplash made the space feel more closed-in than it needed to. The pantry door—often overlooked—felt like an afterthought rather than a cohesive part of the design.

Rather than expand, this family chose to focus on thoughtful upgrades—better flow, improved function, and timeless finishes that would age gracefully alongside their home.

Design Vision & Planning

Working closely with their TraVek designer, they chose a light, layered palette that brought warmth and depth to the space without overwhelming it.

Key Design Features

• Custom Starmark cabinetry in a mixed finish:
  • Tarragon-stained alder on the island and hood wall
  • Painted Marshmallow cabinetry along the refrigerator wall
  • Classic Bridgeport door style for transitional elegance
• Sono Soleil natural stone countertops with eased edge and waterfall panels on both sides of the butterfly-shaped island
• Full-height backsplash behind the hood for added texture and polish
• Top Knobs in matte black for contrast and detail
• A reimagined kitchen island with seating, storage, and a stunning visual impact

For fixtures, they selected a Delta Stryke faucet in Champagne Bronze and a Blanco Anthracite silgranit sink—a high-performance combination that blends seamlessly with the cabinetry and hardware.

During the Remodel

TraVek installed dust protection in non-work areas and managed haul-away of debris to minimize disruption.

• Removal of all cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, and plumbing fixtures
• Relocation of microwave and vent outlets
• Protected outlet installation for undercounter microwave
• Hood vent relocation
• Installation of new plumbing fixtures, angle stops, and air switch
• Full cabinet, hardware, crown molding, and appliance installation
• New pantry door with priming, painting, and strike catch

The Finished Space

This kitchen is now brighter, more functional, and full of thoughtful character. The mixed cabinetry adds warmth and depth, while the waterfall island and full-height backsplash create a clean, elegant focal point. The upgraded pantry door adds just the right amount of lightness and modern charm.

It’s a space built for real life—cooking, gathering, and enjoying the little moments.
